The English department on the Primary PGCE has set up a wiki whereby all members of the program can upload book reviews and add content based on their reading experiences. This is a great way of students being able to share information and discuss children's books together.
So far I have contributed to the site by reviewing the following books:

Evaluation of wiki's
Contributing to a site of wiki's has allowed me to choose which books are suitable for my class. On Guided Professional Placement I was placed in a mixed ability Year 2/3 class and therefore wanted a range of books suitable for this age range. I found reading books and evaluating their strengths and weaknesses has thoroughly helped me to choose when to use them. For example 'Mole's Sunrise' tells the story of a blind mole and is about the importance of friendship. I read this story to my class and found the children could really identify situations where their friends had struggled and they provided support to further their learning.
Overall I think wiki's are positive and would encourage people to use them in the teaching profession.
