Animation
As I'd never used animation before I thought it would be very useful for me to choose this off the blackboard pick and mix section! After completing the module, I decided to download the program 'Stykz' and have a go at creating my first animation.
In total I created 3 animations, the first two familiarising myself with the software and learning to add frames and create my stick figure and the objects around. I will upload all three videos so my progress can be reviewed and explain each in turn.

ANIMATION 1:
The first video was simply me trying out different ideas, for example how the figure moved, which way I could turn it and generally just experimenting with the figure. At this stage I hadn't mastered the art of making the stick figure walk so decided to leave this until the next animation. In total the animation created consisted of 58 frames.
ANIMATION 2:
The second animation consisted of 46 frames. My aim in this animation was to draw feet onto the stick figure and make it walk. My next thought was to try and make the stick figure kick a ball through a goal. I found this extremely difficult at first and a very frustrating process! It was hard to imagine in my head, as I'm sure it would be for children at first, which way the figures arms and legs should be at every frame. I decided to create some letting at the end to put my own personal touch on it, and thought children would like doing this when creating their own.
Although frustrating at times, I was happy with the outcome and wanted to progress a step further in order to complete the final animation.

ANIMATION 3:
This is my final animation. Although there was no theme, the idea is that a figure walks down the steps knocks on a door and with no reply returns up the stairs. However, in the process of him doing this someone does answer the door and is confused as to why the figure has walked away. The final animation consists of 71 frames. I think children would really enjoy just simply trying to get the figure walking down the stairs or knocking on the door!

EVALUATION:
Overall, the experience of creating animations has been a positive one. Although time consuming, I believe this to be down to my inexperience with the software. I believe children in the classroom would in the majority find it a fun and creative way of replicating their way of interpreting situations. It allows them to be as creative as possible in a safe way. Some learners, like myself at first may find the task frustrating but I think once the final product is revealed they will be happy with the progress they have made.
